Five crooks were arrested  for a series of break-ins of vending machines at convenience stores in the area. One of the crooks used different kinds of tools to unlock the vending machines and take the money while the other four stood around and blocked the view of what was going on. Finally, police caught up with them while they were in the act of stealing the money one of the stores. When police arrived the crook doing the lock-picking hid the tools amongst grocery items but they were found by one of the officers and he was handcuffed, all the time denying the tools were his. How did the police make the arrest stick?

When police arrived, the crook doing the lock-picking hid the tools among grocery items but they were found by one of the officers, and he was handcuffed, all the time denying the tools were his. How did the police make the arrest stick?

  1. His fingerprints were on the tools.
  2. His friends ratted him out in exchange for a lighter sentence.
  3. When an officer challenged him to break out of the handcuffs, he said, “I can’t, you have my tools.”
