If this week’s Super Sleuth Challenge proves anything its that even criminals get klutzy.

How did our thirty-year-old man who stole music equipment and lead piping to sell for cash get caught?

A. He had to place an emergency call for help. After stealing the loot, the criminal fell a distance during the escape and broke his leg, pelvis, and nose. He was forced to call for an ambulance and was caught with his loot nearby on the ground.

So what exactly happened?

The burglar fell 40 feet off of one of Gloucester’s historic buildings after stealing musical equipment and lead piping from inside. Due to the extensive nature of his injuries, he was forced to dial 9-9-9, Gloucester’s equivalent of 9-1-1. His loot was found nearby.

The historic Fleece Hotel was put on the market  for sale by the city in the effort to revitalize the old building.

Can you imagine how frustrated the man must have been? Talk about being on the top of the world only to crash into the depths of your greatest disappointment. Yikes!

Seems to me if you are a klutz, its best not to steal anything that involves walking across the roof of anything taller than one story. Just asking for trouble, don’t you think?

If there is a crazy way to get caught being a criminal, you can bet someone out there has thought of it.

I’ve never been overly klutzy, although I’ve had a few banana peel moments where I wanted to just sink into the floor. If you were there in 7th grade when that happened, I’m denying it. Right. Here. And. Now. Wasn’t me.

How about you?

Are you A klutz OR Are you blessed with grace?

  1. I am klutzy to the max. Run into walls. Knock over glasses of tea at banquets,

Pretty funny true story, & I’m glad I guessed right. I am enough of an uncoordinated klutz, that my husband used to call me “Goatfoot,” not meaning it as a compliment. However, my uncoordinated feet have taken me to many interesting places.
